Cover Crops: A Tool For Garden Soil Aeration, Nutrition, & Protection

An overlooked, yet simple practice known as cover cropping is a tool in the arsenal of the backyard gardener and farmer alike. Perhaps you need to add to the nutrient bank in your soil by adding a “green manure”, why not grow it in place? Come learn why, how, and when to incorporate cover crops into your garden in order to protect the soil surface, provide nutrition, aeration to break up heavy soils, provide rest, and even ‘exercise’ to your garden beds! This class will be a hands-on learning event where we will learn together and even practice together as Shaun Mayfield, founder and Certified Educator of Blue Sky Agriscaping demonstrates the power of cover cropping.
