Produce and Preserve With Hugelkultur and Beyond

Have you hugged your ‘hugel’ today? “Hugel” aka Hugelkultur is German for mound/hill culture.  This age-old tradition involves creating a raised garden bed from wood and other organic matter.  For some, this is the ultimate raised bed due to the fact it builds soil fertility and conserves water while creating visual appeal and growing space to your landscape.

To find out more about this type of gardening, join us Wednesday, October 14th as we explore the many facets of ‘hugel beds’.  We’ll discuss building, planting, maintenance as well as lessons learned from exploring this form of gardening.
