3 Steps to Elegant Raised Bed Gardening

Agriscaping is what you get when you bring together the elegance of decorative landscaping and the best of productive agriculture. We each have a relationship with our landscaping, whether we like it or not. There are 3 steeps we are going to share that will help you when you are working with raised beds.

Location is important to the success of any raised bed garden. You want to be sure to set it up where you have morning sun and afternoon shade if you live in Arizona. If you are in a cold zone you want to put it in a place that gets morning shade and maybe have it up against a wall to keep it warmer.

Soil is another important component to a successful raised bed garden. You want the soil to be deep, well draining, holds moisture like a sponge, high in organic matter, has a neutral pH (6 to 7), and crumbles easily. Slow water the soil first and let it come to life for about a week before you start planting in it.

Having a healthy routine to take care of the raised beds is another key step to successful raised bed gardening. Use Agriscaping to be a moving meditation and a daily gift to yourself to transform the energy of the day into a wholesome, peaceful creation. Keep yourself mindful and aligned with your garden.
