Not Your Typical Raised Bed Garden

Not Your Typical Raised Bed Garden

As you think about raised bed gardens, we want to change the traditional view of what a raised bed garden is supposed to look like. They don’t just have to be inside a container. We have subterranean trampoline gardens that have raised beds in them. When tending to these underground gardens you have to treat them in a similar way you would any other raised bed garden. It is just a more hidden and peaceful sanctuary for the gardens.

In the subterranean trampoline gardens you will find a nice E zone. In Arizona’s gardens like this we find that the soil stays around 72 degrees year-round. The highest temperature is 97 vs 122 above ground and the lowest is 36 vs 17 above ground. It holds humidity for growing tropical plants. It stays in the full shade. And it is a lot of fun for the kids!

The trampoline garden is easy to carve out and then build your circular structure, which is easy to support. Circles don’t require as much engineering, which is why we prefer the round trampolines. We do have some clients with rectangular trampolines, which gives the space to put a hammock.

We have found that you can do layered gardens, trellises, water features, and more. We have done a subterranean trampoline garden that had a slide going down and a rock wall to climb out from under. Your imagination is the limit!
